Plaza Hotel ★★

I really liked Jay and his warm approach. He is so kind and explained us a lot of things face to face. I wanted a lot of tea and milk bags. He offered so generously! The room was very very small but it was fine enough to be cozy. The heater worked well and we all slept very well.

It's an old place , so no lift. Extremely cramped space. It will be super troublesome to carry your luggages in your room. If you can ignore these things, you'll like the location and safety. Shops and a pub nearby . Bus stops are nearby as well.

Staff were very friendly and upgraded our room! It was a comfy room which was good for what we needed - somewhere to sleep. There was a fridge also which was very helpful. It was good value for money!

The room and facilities could have been cleaner as it was a little run down (some black mold). It's likely the build of the hotel though. Front of the house where our room was, was a little noisy as main road with emergency services near plus could hear other guests.

My second stay at this hotel. The room was on the first floor (2nd floor for Americans) was clean and was extremely large. It contained two double beds, one of which was very comfortable (I didn't use the other as I was travelling solo). The room had a very comfortable office chair, a very good TV with streaming facilities including Netflix, ample, well sited power points, most with additional USB sockets, tea/coffee making facilities and a fridge (more on that below). The windows of the room could be opened. The bathroom was clean and all plumbing facilities worked as expected (w.c., sink, shower enclosure and heated towel rail). There is no lift, but as there was only one flight of stairs this was not an issue. There was no decaffeinated coffee available, but as I always carry my own supply, this was not an issue.

Although the office chair was very good, perversely there was no desk or table in the room apart from a very narrow shelf which was too small for a laptop or even a tablet. There was no enclosed storage space anywhere in the room (no wardrobe or chests of drawers), with hanging space provided by a set of coat hooks by the door to the room. The room overlooked the Shepherd's Bush Road, an extremely busy thoroughfare, so although the windows could be opened, most people may not wish to. The room does have aircon however, so this might not be a serious shortcoming for most guests.

Great location for the price we paid. Not too far from the center and still close to many shops including restaurants and fast food. The staff was nice. Not too expensive for London.

There was moist in the fridge and the bathroom wasn't super clean.

Jay is a very welcoming and lovely host. Always remembers me when I arrive and is very polite and friendly.

Good location. Easy wall from Hammersmith Tube. Nice welcome from host.

No bathmat. No blanket so used duvet from other bed as room was chilly.

Great location. Great pillows! Far better than any other hotel I have stayed at on Shepherds Bush Road. The television actually worked perfectly well!

Photograph ID was requested upon arrival. I was not pre-warned of this mandatory requirement. It was extremely lucky I had a photograph of my passport in my phone otherwise the staff would have not allowed me to stay. The ceiling needed painting over a couple of damp patches and two small lamps did not work but mainly surprisingly great.

Beds and room were clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly. Easy checkout in the morning. Easy to come and go as you pleased. Close to restaurants and two Tube stations.

As foreigners, we did not know there was a switch on the outside of the bathroom for the hot water. Or at least that is what we figured out at other hotels later. We had issues with not always having hot water for showers. Not really the facilities problem, but maybe labeling the switch on the outside of the bathroom since it's London and there are bound to be other foreigners like us. Also it was hot and muggy when we were there in August. Windows don't open very much at all, so hard to get much cool evening air into the room. Fan helped, but it was still quite warm.

Good location - relatively easy to get to the center (tube), supermarkets, restaurants, pubs close by. Comfortable (firm) mattress. Big fridge.

Wi-Fi was bad on the upper floor, room got very hot

A clean room with a comfortable bed in a good location at a very good price. The room is equipped with an en suite shower and toilet, a refrigerator, TV, fan and tea/coffee making facilities. The window to the room could be opened for ventilation and the room was equpped with a radiator for heating in cold weather (though being 26°C (79°F) when I stayed, I cannot vouch for how effective this is.

The room was located on the 3rd floor (fourth floor for American visitors) of the hotel and there is no lift. This could be an issue for anyone with even moderate mobility issues or large/heavy luggage. The room was quite small and quite hot (a chimney effect seems to be operating so that the heat rises progressively as you ascend the building. There is a fan in the room, but this is quite noisy and was largely ineffective. The refrigerator is very effective, but also quite noisy. There is no desk area or anywhere to sit in the room except for the bed. The hotel supplies tea and coffee for the room, but no decaffeinated coffee, and none is available at reception. When I stayed there the remote control appeared unable to control the TV (The handset lit when buttons were pressed, but nothing happened at the TV), so unless you find the hidden button on the back of the TV itself you only have the channel it was last left on. The shower provided a good flow and for the first 90 seconds a good temperature, but then dropped to cold water only (approximately 40 seconds) followed by scalding (approximately 15 seconds), before returning to perfect temperature. As the shower has a fixed shower head situated in the centre of the cubicle, it was not easy to totally avoid the cold/scalding water when this occurred.
